Direct external financing of weapons production in Ukraine will lead to the growth of the domestic military-industrial complex, – Belbas

Direct external financing of the production of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine can be an important step that will lead to a significant growth of the domestic defense sector.

This was stated by Vladyslav Belbas, director general of Ukrainian Armor LLC, on TSN media.

According to him, the capabilities of the Ukrainian budget cannot ensure maximum workload of domestic producers.

“Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin mentioned that the state can currently finance domestic production at the level of 6 billion Euros, while existing facilities can produce goods worth 20 billion Euros. Now Western governments have announced their intention to directly finance domestic production in Ukraine. And this is quite the right step. Such clustering of support by competence can lead to a significant leap in the production and supply of domestically produced weapons and military equipment,” Belbas said.

He also positively assessed the entry of Western manufactures of military products into the Ukrainian market.

“We have to understand that the arrival of Western companies with their technologies, their ability to organize production processes, their salaries and experience is our growth. That is why cooperation and building production ties with Western manufacturers should be our priority today,” Belbas is convinced.
