Development of own military-industrial complex is the main guarantee of stable peace in Ukraine, – Belbas

The development of our own military-industrial complex is the main guarantee of stable peace in Ukraine.

This was stated by Vladyslav Belbas, director general of Ukrainian Armor LLC, during the event “War 2025. Weapons, People, Money” organized by Ukrayinska Pravda.

“Only our own production – full-fledged, secured, developed, prioritized by taxes and benefits – will allow us to achieve stable peace in Ukraine in the long run,” Belbas is convinced.

According to him, the defense industry has demonstrated high growth rates over the past three years.

“Today, our defense industry fully covers its own needs in such segments as fpv drones and ammunition, water drones, armored vehicles, mortars, and artillery systems. We are actively developing our own ammunition production – we already produce more Soviet-caliber ammunition than all our Western partners combined,” says director general of Ukrainian Armor.

In his opinion, the necessary steps to continue the industry’s growth at this stage are long-term planning, attracting financial resources to the industry (loans, benefits, etc.), unification of equipment, and preserving and developing the military-industrial complex’s human resources.

“We have to fully implement long-term contracts and the Weapons of Victory program, and fully fund them. The statements that are being made now that we do not have enough money to finance three-year programs – only for one year – are a road to nowhere. We need to look for sources of funding, first of all, by working more actively with Western partners, using the profits from frozen russian assets to finance the domestic military-industrial complex,” Belbas said.
