Domestic armored vehicles are not only in no way inferior to their Western counterparts, but often surpass them in a number of parameters. Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer of the “Information Resistance” group, writes about this in his blog.
He compares the APC “Novator” with the Canadian Roshel Senator and notes that the domestic vehicle is better in many ways.
“Roshel Senator is called one of Novator’s main competitors, although the Ukrainian armored vehicle is significantly ahead of the Canadian APC in a number of indicators, especially in terms of price/quality ratio. And the Ukrainian armored vehicle has a much higher cross-country ability than the Canadian one, which is not surprising… Because who knows better than us what difficult conditions the vehicle is designed for and what endurance conditions it is tested in,” Kovalenko writes.
He also notes that the APC Novator is constantly being improved based on the experience of participation in combat operations and feedback from the military.
“What is equally important in today’s wars, Novator is not just an armored vehicle for troop transportation and cargo delivery, but also a combat vehicle. The armored vehicle has a wide range of functional use of firepower, both as combat modules and as a mobile ATGM. In addition, it can be used as a mobile UAV launch point. Today, there are not many armored vehicles in the world that can boast of incorporating solutions into their design that resulted from experience gained during real combat operations. Those who do this and do it very successfully are actually ahead of the competition and can offer a potential customer something that their competitors will lack,” Kovalenko said.
