The prospects for the transition of Ukrainian defense industry enterprises to NATO technical standards and the challenges associated with this process were discussed by the participants of the conference held on May 30 in Kyiv and attended by industry representatives.
“The main issue on the agenda for domestic producers is standardization and codification in the defense sector, which is critical to ensure that Ukrainian products meet international requirements,” said Mykola Kuzma, deputy general director for development at Ukrainian Armor LLC.
According to him, the manufacturers are also focused on the importance of transitioning Ukrainian laboratories to NATO technical standards.
“This step will allow us to test equipment and production directly in Ukraine, which will greatly simplify the certification and testing processes, avoiding the need to export products abroad. This approach will significantly reduce the cost of manufactured products and significantly increase their competitiveness in the global market,” Kuzma said.
It is worth noting that the transition to NATO technical standards is not an easy task for every ukrainian enterprise, especially in the context of a large-scale invasion. However, the discussion during the conference demonstrated the readiness of domestic military equipment manufacturers to adapt and implement NATO standards, which is an important step towards Ukraine’s integration into the European and global defense community.
Ukrainian Armor LLC is proud to have had the opportunity to join the discussion and will continue to work on implementing the highest quality standards in its products that meet NATO requirements and contribute to strengthening the defense capabilities of our country.
