During testing the specialized armored vehciles were inspected by the specialists of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Central Research Institute of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with the representatives of all security ministries and departments.

“Analysing losses of the fighting equipment in the ATO zone, we came to the conclusion that many of them are caused by the inability of the car to get out of the fire. Our vehicle has the ability to move at 30 – 40 km/h even with punctured tires” – Dmytro Poliakov, the First Deputy Director of the Design and Manufacturing Company «Ukrainian Armor» said.

To improve armor protection of the body except the V-shaped underbody protecting it against mines “Varta” has the V -shaped armored capsule. Herewith the underbody can be replaced in case of damage without changing the armored capsule.

Armor effectively protects paratroopers and passengers from shrapnel and incendiary armor-piercing bullets of 7,62 mm calibre. The armored glass produced by the national manufacturer has the same resistance. In this vehicle a new method of armored glass installation was used that allows its quick replacing.

The tests included shooting through the armor, armored glass and joints of the vehicle using corresponding ammunition. A specified protection level was confirmed. Passenger compartments of the vehicles are equipped with anti-mine seats, which increase the personnel’s chances to survive.

“There are no other vehicles of this class with the same protection level in Ukraine”, – Dmytro Poliakov said.
