«The Ukrainian defense industry is experiencing a real boost», – Maxim Polyvanyi

The Ukrainian defense industry is experiencing a real boost, but domestic production is not enough to cover the loss of international support. This is stated in the Washington Post article.

«Unfortunately, without the assistance, both military and financial, of our Western partners, our friends, including the United States, we will not be able to fully satisfy the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,» Maksym Polyvianyi, Deputy General Director of Ukrainian Armor LLC, said in an interview with The Washington Post.

According to him, complicated logistics and a sharp increase in international demand, which has led to a shortage of gunpowder and rocket fuel on the world market, are significant barriers for the development of the defense sector. «In Ukraine, this has led to occasional production shutdowns», says Polyvianyi.

The Deputy General Director of Ukrainian Armor also notes an increase in the number of missile attacks on defense companies.

According to him, Ukrainian Armor and other manufacturers of weapons and military equipment have moved part of their production outside Ukraine.

As a protective measure, companies split up or duplicate production stages and place them in different locations, all of which reduces production.
