The specialized armored vehicle “KAMRAT” will be unique in its class and the first among Ukrainian cars will have the maximum protection class PZSA-6 (equivalent to STANAG 4569 level 3), which will provide protection against firearm impact of 7.62mm caliber and P-32, bullet-proof even from a distance of 10 meters . The armor glass has the same level of protection as the main armor. The engine of the vehicle is equipped with additional armor plates and is completely protected from a hit by a bullet of 7.62 mm.
In addition, the APC “KAMRAT” puts a new mine protection bar – the safety of the crew is guaranteed, even in the case of an explosion under the wheel or bottom of 8 kg in TNT.
The new national Ukrainian armored vehicle is designed to carry personnel of up to 10 people (2 + 8) in off-road conditions. Domestic off-road vehicle KrAZ-5233 with a 4×4 wheel formula is used as a chassis for this combat vehicle. APC “KAMRAT” is equipped with a centralized tire inflation system, which enables the driver, without leaving the armored capsule, while driving or parking to manage tire pressure to overcome difficult sections of rough terrain, automatically maintains tire pressure in the event of damage, and also automatically shuts off wheel from the system in case of its considerable damage.
The combat vehicle with 16400 kg of gross weight will be equipped with a 6-cylinder 380hp turbocharged engine. and a torque of 1460 Nm.
“At the request of the Defense Ministry and special forces, the height of the car is reduced to 2.6 m, which makes “KAMRAT” one of the lowest armored personnel carriers in the MRAP class in the world,” said Alexander Kuzma, the director of “Ukrainian armor” LLC. – The new armored vehicle combines reliable mine protection, high level of protection against small arms and at the same time has small dimensions. Such tactical and technical characteristics are in high demand in the Special Forces of the Marines, Air Forces, Land Forces, as well as Special Operations Forces. “
“KAMRAT” can be equipped with a “Sarmat” (12.7 mm caliber) combat module, “Corsar” anti-tank missile system (107 mm caliber) or a “Skif” (130 mm and 152 mm caliber).
