Ukrainian-made weapons and military equipment are better than their Western counterparts in many segments.

This was stated by Vladyslav Belbas, Director General of Ukrainian Armor LLC, during the conference “Life in a long war” organized by Hromadske.

“In the reconnaissance UAV segment, we are better than our foreign counterparts and cheaper. We are much better and much cheaper than the Western drones in tactical level (30-40 km). The Ukrainian production of artillery or mortar rounds today significantly restrains Western manufacturers from speculative price increases, as we work in the lower range of their prices,” Belbas said.

He also emphasized the financial aspect of procurement: “If we are already in a war of attrition, a war of confrontation between economies, we must understand that the more expensive equipment we buy or produce, the less we will get for the money we have. We have to take this into account. Of course, we cannot buy the cheapest thing for our military, but we have to buy what they need, and it has to be high-quality products.”

According to him, the enemy adapts even to the most technologically advanced Western models, and in order for weapons to remain effective, they need to be constantly modified.

“We are here, we have the necessary resources, we have extensive experience in the use and constant communication with the military, which helps us to respond quickly to the demands of modern warfare. We need to understand that Western manufacturers approach this as a business, not as a military threat. For us, the production and supply of military equipment is a matter of survival. In order to win the war, we need to consolidate as much as possible, scale up production and develop the domestic military-industrial complex,” said the director general of Ukrainian Armor LLC.
