XIII INTERNATIONAL SPECIALIZED EXHIBITION “ARMS AND SECURITY – 2016” STARTED ON OCTOBER 11, ON THE EVE OF THE DAY OF DEFENDER OF UKRAINE IN THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE

XIII International Specialized Exhibition “Arms and Security – 2016” started on October 11, on the eve of the Day of Defender of UKRAINE in the International Exhibition Centre. The exhibition “Arms and Security – 2016” occupied the area more than 19,000 sq.m. and was visited by 299 companies, including 19 foreign companies from Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, China and UAE.

A specialized armored car for transportation of paratroopers, namely, a specialized armored vehicle “Varta 6×6”, which is built on ZIL-131 chassis with modernized armored capsule that protects the crew from being blown up by a land mine under the wheel and underbody with strength up to 6 kg of TNT and from shrapnel and bullets of calibre 7,62 × 54R mm of the Dragunov sniper rifle were shown on the stand of the Design and Manufacturing Company «Ukrainian Armor».

Also there were presented the armored vehicle “Varta 4×4”, previously presented at the exhibition “Eurosatory-2016” in Paris. Presentation of the specialized armored vehicle “Varta” of the new generation, the design of which took into account the wishes of the Ministry of Defence and the National Guard of Ukraine is planned for the end of the year after passing all the tests.

The highlight of the event was the all-terrain vehicle “Plastun”, which is a joint development of Belarusian and Ukrainian engineers that is characterized by good cross-country properties, namely low pressure tires that allow you to easily overcome almost any obstacle at the swamp area, virgin snow, or even in the water.

An armored vehicle to transport the wounded soldiers, manufactured based on the modern chassis of van Ford Transit was also presented on the show. The car came back from the ATO zone for the days of exhibition only; in the ATO zone it has already helped to save more than 100 lives. Its passenger compartment can accommodate up to 8 wounded persons sitting or 4 lying. It is also possible to simultaneously transport 4 sitting and 3 lying passengers, or 8 sitting and 2 lying fighters.
